PROFILE SUMMARY

Advisian offers a transport modeller position in our transportation team in Madrid, Spain. As a transport modeller, you will work on a wide range of exciting transportation planning and modelling projects for our worldwide network of clients. As part of your responsibilities, you will build transport models with different levels of detail and requirements, from microsimulation and pedestrian modelling to bigger-scale regional and strategic models. In addition, your role will also involve the production of technical reports and demand forecasting exercises to support our clients in their decision-making process.

As a member of our transportation team, you will be supported and trained in the use of modelling software and best international practices and guidance in transport appraisal and simulation techniques by experienced colleagues.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Microsimulation, pedestrian and macrosimulation modelling, including public transport and private infrastructure projects.
  • Organizing and evaluating traffic and socioeconomic databases.
  • Analyzing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from transportation models.
  • Produce demand forecast for both private and public transport modes.
  • Attend meetings with clients and provide support to the project managers.
  • Support the team in proposal writing and other commercial activities.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, Traffic Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Geography or Economics.
LANGUAGES

Excellent verbal communication and writing skills in Spanish and English.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
  • Candidates should show their skills and experience in transportation projects and modelling capabilities.
  • Relevant experience in any of the following softwares is required: AIMSUN, VISSIM, VISWALK, Paramics Discovery, VISUM, SATURN, TransCAD, EMME, CUBE.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
  • The candidate should be familiar with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • Experience working with Python, VBA or other programming languages is desirable
